A ver qué tal.

Be awesome!

3 years, 13 days

3 years with the best girl ever. You can't imagine how lucky I feel right now remembering how we met, how everything went and turned into the marvellous thing it is now.

13 days for me to make a trip to the North of Europe, where She is. Where I'll be able to take a rest from my milliom of things to do.

Not many words, but really there are a lot of feelings in them.

18 days

Woah, time seems to fly a bit over here, doesn't it?
I know I don't write much, but I have to work on a lot of things at the same time: exams, projects, thesis, my mental health, my health in general...

Exams: I have to study for them, I have already had some of them, they are not the most important ever (the real evaluatio is in the end of January-beginning of February) but they can make me pass a couple of subject, which would mean less work for me to do in Christmas.

Projects: A few of them going on; structures, flight mechanics and aeronautical organizationg design. They are just ok, I don't have much time for that, actually...

Thesis: There it is, it makes me work a bit more, not the most difficult but such a time-eater.

Health: I try to not to get crazy or fat, I barely have time to work out, but well, we do what we can.

And I'm getting things ready for my next visit to Sweden, that I'm expecting so much, I can't wait to have Her close to me, to say hej to Her family, friends, to see the snow falling and the white views because of the snow, frozen lakes and cold weather while you are warm inside. I think that's a great feeling.

Picture: Me teaching fluid mechanics to some classmates and to the teacher, that didn't seem to agree with my opinion, so I had to demonstrate it (and of course I did!). He really liked my explanation and my mates... At least they had fun :-)

I have decided that eventually I'd love to teach, as a part time thing, like once or twice a week. I felt so happy after my small class (it wasn't more than 15 minutes). To teach is something that I have always liked.

Be awesome and keep pushing, the goal is a bit closer every day.

25

25 days to go there. It's basically the only thing I can think about.

But here it is so busy, that's why I'm not writing basically, I use to go to bed almost at 1 and get up at 7, all the time studying, working on projects, eating or talking with Her, that's my life now, to get done here and get ready to go to Her.

She really means the world to me, She is really worth to fight for and of course I'd push this hard a million times if it was necessary to just spend a moment with Her.

Be awesome, keep pushing.

34

34 days left,
Then I'll take off from Málaga heading to Skavsta Airport!
What about me right now? Quite overloaded, today I had an exam (surprise exam) that I really hope it went fine, I know I had a couple of mistakes but an 8 shouldn't be imposible.
Good things: My new computer is smooth like a warm knife cutting butter, it's really powerful and makes everything just so fast, there are some heavy calculations that in my other computer take around half an hour and this one gives you the result in less than 5 minutes!
Busy things: I have like a thousand projects to do: Structures, Flight Mechanics (still don't know what to do, but we will have to do something), Projects (yes, we have a subject called projects and we have to do a project), Aerodynamics, Air Traffic, my thesis, 3 exams left (they are going to be 4 soon) before the end of December and me having to let everything ready so I can allow myself to just bring some pappers to Sweden.
Personal things: I really miss her so very much, everyday a bit more than the day before. I can't wait to land there and hug her. She really deserves the best in this world.

Just a little update about my life, I really would like to write about different subjects, but I honestly don't have time to make propper articles or anything.

Be awesome and Keep Pushing!

Busy week

Busy week is coming, it starts tomorrow (not really that busy, just class and things to study, as always):

 - Monday: Studying.
 - Tuesday: 5 hours conference about new aeronautics companies and people who started their own business in my field.
 - Wednesday: Studying + 2 hours practice class in a flight simulator to calculate the stability of an airplane.
 - Thursday: Studying + 3 hours practice class in the calculation center, about satellites, interesting but 3 hours.
 - Friday: Studying + talking with a project's tutor, I hope to finish that one in two weeks top. Maybe also talk with my thesis tutor, but I don't think so, I won't have time this week.

Apart of that the rest of the time I sleep, go to class, eat... You know, what humans do, but faster than them in order to get some free time in the night to talk with Her.

Someone told me that this year would be easier than the previous ones... Maybe it is, but it's so full of work to do. Anyway I can't stop thinking that it is a few months more and I'll be done.

It gets a bit more difficult when you miss Her as much as I do. I would really like to be there with her right now, te echo de menos Simone.

Be awesome and keep pushing!

Idag har jag...

Done so many things.

Days here are quite long. Today was one of those long, busy days. This morning I woke up at 07:00 (as always) and went to the university, there I had a fast breakfast, studied for 2 hours and a half and then went to calculate some satellites orbits in the calculation center (a place with hundreds of computers in different rooms).

From there I went directly to have lunch with a friend, coffee and back to work on a team project about the design of an organization that builds a small sportive airplane (sounds cool, it's not that cool, it has a lot of normatives and ugly stuff).

What was next? Class, from 15:30 to 20:30 with 2 rests, 15 minutes each. Then back home, workout (at home, I don't have time to go to a gym) shower and dinner with my family.

And now I'm here, with a lot of pappers in my desk and still a hundred things in my mind. And I'm writing because I am stealing time from working on the last aerodynamics project I have to do (before the end of December). Some exams are coming.

I'm not getting the job at my uni, but honestly, I don't think I have much time for it right now, so I better finish my studies in July and then get an awesome job somewhere over the world (would love Sweden-Norwey). So this is going to be a weekend full of hard work on my things.

I may get a new laptop tomorrow (I have bought it, they just have to deliver it to me), quite powerfull (Intel i7, a good graphics card and 8gb of RAM memory) that will help me and save me so much time with my things and heavy calculation stuff. Actually I thought I could get everything done with my actual one (a small netbook) but obviously not.

And that's pretty much how my life is, always busy, always studying and/or working on projects. Let's just get rid of that :-)

But the most important thing is: I'm going to Sweden for New Years! I think there isn't anything as awesome as that :-D

Sweden: December the 26th - January the 5th

Just got the tickets!
What do you thing? My second New Years in Sweden!

This time I hope to see all the people I didn't see last time in September-October. And I really hope to not to be a load for them...

So things are great over here, it seems I won't get the internship (well, I still could fight a bit for it) but I got a great thesis work instead, they don't pay, but it's a great thesis work in the "Aerospace Engineering department".

And yes, things are great, as great as they can be without Her around here, but the end of this distance period is aproaching. This will be my last year studying (by now, I want to have a PhD and be called "Doctor" haha, but that will be in the future) and it means a lot of change.

I may tell you more about those changes soon, we will see how everything goes.
Be awesome!

Lunch outside

Hey you!

Today in a little rest I'll write you about what we (my family and I) did yesterday: to have lunch outside. Yes, again!

That is such a typical thing to do in Spain. Food here is great and cheap, which makes Sundays (nobody works on Sundays, just bars) perfect to make a small "celebration" and have lunch outside in family.

We went to a grill bar quite close from where I live and had grilled meat. Also some gambas (shrimps) with a beer to make the stomach start working. 2 big pieces of meat, a dish to share between my brother and me (consisting in a piece of almost every kind of meat they had), the shrimps, 5 beers and 1 fanta, every dish with grilled potatoes and sauce for just a bit more than 30€, isn't that great? Because all 4 of us got quite full (and you have to put a lot of food on the table to make me and my brother full).

So, if you are coming to Spain I recomend you to experiment a meal like this, because it's just a part of our culture, a very good part I must say hehe.

Be awesome!

Onsdag

Idag det är onsdag, och idag har jag pluggat jättemycket.
Jag vill lära mig svenska, men det är inte lätt. Jag saknar Sverige, det är mitt andra hem därför att där Simone bor, och jag älskar henne!

And yes, I did that without the translator! Well, almost, I had to look "andra" or "second" (if it's correct).
Days continue here, mornings studying, afternoons at class until 21:00, then back home, some workout, shower, dinner and talk with Her unless She is not working while I give a look to my things (my thesis mainly or other projects I have to finish). After that, around 23:00 or 23:30 I study at least a half an hour of Swedish everyday, which is why I'm improving (I hope) my skills.

I'll know soon if I get the internship or not, both are good news, why? Because if I get it I get it, and that's a good new, it's a job, which implies money and experience. If I don't get it I'll have more time to study, which is great too haha!

A picture for today: My Sunday great steak! Just meat on the fire and awesome potatis :)

May the awesomeness be with you!

Finally weekend

Saturday arrived, after such a long week.

And I get more and more work to do, as I like hehe (I don't have any other option so...).
I don't have much to say today, things are quite normal over here, winter is arriving (jeans time) and days are shorter and nights longer.

Today was the first time I have seen my father in a whole month, long time (I went to Sweden and while I was there he went to work for 3 weeks to another city, Melilla, in Africa). So today we are having lunch outside.

That's such a typical thing here, you can have lunch outside quite often because it's not expensive, food is good and there are bars and restaurants everywhere! I read that there is a bar in Spain for each 10 inhabitants, too much (that's one of the reasons why we will suffer this crysis for 15 or 20 years more).

But well, for me life looks quite great. I have discovered that the more effort I make to get things, the more things I get done and the better they are done. So let's keep making an effort for this final year (8 months already!) and let's find an awesome place to live the awesome life :)

I hope you like the new design and colours of the blog, I tried it last time and I think it looks fine. Be awesome!

Monday

Good day to start the week,

Since I'm here I'm back to the routine and I'm working quite hard (it's easy, I have a ton of things to do). Among others I have already started my thesis work, which makes me quite enthusiastic and well, preparing and studying subjects because this semester I won't have all the exams in January-February, some of them will be during the semester so that's good, it means that maybe I can afford to spend a week in Sweden for New Years!

What about being here? How is it for me?
Well, I have my friends here, we went out on Friday and it was a well-needed thing by me, to have friends around always helps to ease down the unavoidable (what a word! but I didn't make it up, it really exists) pain that you feel when you miss someone as I do. To have friends around is always good, overall when you know they are true friends and even more when you have a couple of beers in a bucket full of ice hehe.

What about Sweden?
I don't know, I'm sorry but I still don't know how it will go. Maybe I go there for New Years, as I said above, maybe not. I really would like to be there by then, let's just wait and see how it goes. It would be nice to see her and her family (such a long time since I don't see them). I hope you don't feel that I'm abusing your confidance, but it's a family that I feel I'm a part of. An awesome family.

Here I let you a picture of what keeps me always so strong, what keeps me pushing no matter what:

So this is it, my Monday small update, have a nice week and keep awesomeness alive wherever you go!

Pictures i Småland

Since last one was just all text I let you some pictures now about that incredibly great trip, I'm back to my ultra-busy life here (thesis work, maybe a job and a lot of things to study). I can't avoid to miss her very much, overall in a day like this in which we have been together for 2 years and 10 months! How awesome is that?
Almost 3 years together, a lot of experiences and so many good moments, here I have some of the most recent ones:

Be awesome and always Keep Pushing!

Back in Sevilla

Hello there,

Here I am, back in the city where I use to live. In the university where I have just started my 6th (and last) year studying. What about my trip? There are so many things to tell.
First I landed in Malmö airport, where I bought the bus ticket to Lund (and I did it in Swedish!). Once in Lund I had to deal a bit with the crazy spâr thing, the train stations, the trains that go in the same direction but don't stop in Växjö and so. But I did it! I got a ticket and I sat in the train to Växjö! In first class! (actually I think that I shouldn't be there, but nobody said anything when they checked my ticket so... And I didn't find the second class part of the train).
Then I had the most beautiful vision that one can have in their life, to see Her waiting for me in the tâgstation in Växjö. It was then when it started to be really good, she really is a light in my life and always makes me smile and laugh.

Her flat is small but nice, the rooms have a decent size and they are quite ok. I got to unlock the oven with a screwdriver (an engineer can do a lot of things with a screwdriver, keep that in mind) and we were able to bake cookies (in which I think I'm quite good), make pizzas and well, now it's unlocked. I also decided to fix her chair.
Something about me: I always fix things when they are not straight, plenty working or anything, I like everything to work fine and to be in its possition, I'm kind of maniatic (right Simone?), but I'm not too much, I'm not too crazy :-)
So, we also went to sing in her choir, it's quite nice and something I'd love to do in the future, people liked my voice.

Time there was uncredibly great. It just feels so natural to be at her side, spending some cozy time watching TV on the sofa, a very simple and easy thing that we can barely do... To live with her feels like the right think to do, instead of being here in Sevilla studying, this feels like something temporal, like something is going to finish quite soon (and I hope so).
Walks, nice dinner at home, to have lunch outside, to go shopping... Things people do all the time and that they don't notice how nice they are, I guess it is true what they say, that we value more what we can't have. So be it, I have enjoyed every single second I have spent with Her, even when we did the tiniest little thing in the world. It really feels like home when I'm with Her.

Just so you know, my plan is to finish my studies here while I learn kickass Swedish (I'm studying it as if it was another subject in my degree), get a kickass job and live there with Her (or at least quite close). Right now I'm doing my best here, I have information to start my thesis work and things to study. I hope I get the internship so I can save some more money for next year.

I know, a lot of text and no pictures... Maybe tomorrow I show you some of the pictures I took there (many of them are mushrooms, but I'm so not used to see them!). Also much more personal than other times, well, right now I feel much more personal (but not loosing awesomeness at all).

Be awesome and be ready, because I'm coming.

I Sverige!

Hello all!
Finally in Sweden! Yesterday was a long day travelling until Växjö, but I got to arrive here sane and sound and I used my Swedish to buy the bus ticket! How awesome is that?

Right now she is in class so I'll make something useful and study Swedish, it is a very interesting language and such a great culture, I can't avoid being surprise (positively) every time I'm here and learn something new about this scandinavian culture.

I hope everything is fine everywhere and that you are doing your best always.
Be awesome!

Rest after the storm

That's how I'm now.

Right now I'm not busy, at least! I'm done! Well, for a couple of weeks. I'll go to Sweden on Wednesday, that means I'll take that plane in 5 days (almost 4). Things here are fine, getting everything ready for this next year (I count years from September, that's how awesome I'm) that I hope will be the last I spend studying here in Sevilla.

This last year I'll be studying the 5th year of my degree. More specific subjects, more interesting subjects. I'll also be doing my FYP (Final Year Project or "Proyecto Final de Carrera" in Spanish, I think that it is the right term to use, but I'm not sure if it is that or "thesis work", since what I'm finishing is a master degree in engineering...).

Anyway, in the project I'll study the behaviour of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) powered by an electric engine and a propeller. That's quite awesome, isn't it?

This year I'll also try to get an internship in the department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, which means that I'll work 3 hours everyday and at the end of the year I'll get 2700€, it is more or less 300€ per month. But that is not for sure, it depends on a lot of things that I can't do anything about right now.

So that's it, I'll study Swedish all this weekend so I can survive from Malmö till Växjö by myself hehe. Just kidding, Sweden is not like Spain, there you speak English too.

Jag hoppas du har det bra. Be awesome!

Plugga plugga! a estudiar!

Jag pluggar svenska ocksâ!
Att plugga, to study, that's what I have to do for less than a week more. I have an exam tomorrow, another on Monday and the last one on Wednesday. I have studied for a while now to prepare those exams so I hope it goes fine.
After that I have a few days here to get things ready to go to Sweden, things like to study Swedish intensively just in case I need it (it could happen), university things such as scolarships (that I never get despite I pass more than enough subjects to get it, but trying is free so...) a couple of pappers and that's all, but it must be done.
Today is the day in which She and me have been together for 2 years and 9 months, that's such a while and I want it to continue forever :-)
Be awesome!

Where have I been?

I'm quite busy lately, I have 3 exams soon, have to get ready things for the new course (some pappers on my desk...) and well, I still need to have a life hehe so I let you a couple of pictures of where I have been this Summer:

Back in black (2nd part I think)

Hej all!
I'm back, back in black! Like AC/DC would say (one of the music groups I most like). I have been in Málaga, la Costa del Sol, clearing up my mind and now it is time to work really hard. I have a lot of pictres that I will eventually upload and some good stories.
I also have tickets to go to Sweden from September the 26th to October the 7th, 10 days next to the most perfect girl in the world.

Be awesome!

Hasta luego

I always hated to say "goodbye", that's why you'll never find me saying "adiós" in Spanish. Instead of that I use "hasta luego", which means "see you later". Because I always have hope that I'll see that person again, hopefully not in a long time.

Recently (last week) I had to say "hasta luego" to the most important person in my life after sharing 5 months living in the same room. Huge step. I can't say it didn't hurt and everything is alright, because it did hurt and this looks so empty without her. But as I said "hasta luego" I'm looking forward to see her again in the foreseeable future. Which means that I'll try to travel to Sweden as soon as I can, but I can't do it before I can. What I mean with that is that when I'm able to go there I will, not before, not after. There are things here that need to be done first (like exams, look for a part-time job and organize my last year studying and start looking for real jobs from July).

To achieve that I must work hard. In a few minutes I'm travelling to Málaga, my home city, where I don't have internet on my computer so I won't be able to write here. But anyone can contact me through my phone, email (I have internet on my phone), whatsapp, facebook or twitter.

So, see you in September, hasta luego!

Adventures in Santander II

More things about Santander!
Beautiful city, great people and great food. In almost every bar there you can find "pinchos" which are similar to the worlwide known "tapas". Very cheap and very good :-)

We didn't see only Santander, we also went to a medieval village called "Santillana del Mar". So wonderful views, a bit touristic but such a pleasure to walk through its streets. Let's see a couple of pictures:

Beautiful view in Santander

So good tortilla de patatas in Santander

This last weekend we have been in Málaga, with my family. Beach, sun and swimming in the sea. Great holidays :-)

I'm looking foward to my next trip to Sweden, right now I'm doing it quite awesome here with my university things, I got an 8.4 in composytes (carbon fiber and things like that) and I have passed every exam excep one that I decided to do in September.

So things are quite great here, now with the fact that she will go to Sweden in a couple of days in my mind but well, enjoying as much as we can (and this terrible heat allows us).

Be awesome!

Adventures in Santander

Our trip first was from Sevilla to Santander, it started here, in the aeroplane:

Just a Ryanair airplane but it was quite special, we were in it, 5 minutes before taking off to have our own holidays. After an hour an a half flying and a short trip in bus and by walking we arrived to the hostal, a very nice bed and breakfast place with so kind owners. Our room had an old church close, this is the view from the window:

And tomorrow I'll write more, that's just the beginning :-)

Be awesome!

Back from holidays!

Here we are, back in the heat of Sevilla, hiding under the AC :-)

A few things happened there in the North of Spain, and I have passed a couple more of exams hihi, it seems I kick asses in structures, I got a 10 in the project so that could be something for next year.

Today we have a few things to do here in the house, well, maybe just relax for a while and update my phone, so tomorrow I'll write about this great trip with Her.

A couple of pictures, the first one from Santander and the second from Bilbao :-)

Lazy weekend, cozy weekend

That was it, finally I got what I deserved: a lazy and cozy weekend home alone with her.
Whatching "The Godfather", "Game of Thrones", "The boy in the striped pyjamas" and reading books.
So I promised her to go to a quite fine restaurant so yesterday night it came to my mind and she accepted to come :)

What can I say? Such a wonderful night. Very fine place, built around old Arabic baths. Great food, fine candles illuminating the rooms and so nice Spanish guitar music.

All of that after weeks and months of hard work it was a very well earned time with her. I still don't have pictures because she had her new camera, but you can see our dessert in her blog.

Soon we are going "North" (it doesn't make sense to call it true North since it's in Spain hehe). I'll make pictures then :-)

Be awesome and enjoy Summer!

10 days after

That's it, 10 days after I wrote here the last time, now I have done 7 exams and I have only one left on Thursday and an oral exam (English).
Things are going great, I have passed 3 exams (I only got 3 marks) so right now I'm doing quite great hehe, let's see the final results.

Soon I'll upload new pictures and tell new stories and adventures that are incoming :)
Be awesome!

Fast shoot, 2nd done!

Hej! Hur är det med dig?
Det är bra här, the only thing is that I'm quite busy due to my exams.

I think they are going fine, I have passed the English one (that is not a big surprise, the level wasn't quite high) and done 2 in the university. I also have finished the last project I had to do and right now I'm uploading it to send it to the teacher. 60 pages of work...

I'm sorry I don't have many pictures to show to you, lately I don't do much outside of my room.
Next week I have exams on Monday, Wednesday and Friday... Let's hope we can meet Kjell and Gabrielle on Saturday before they go. I would like my family to meet Anne too, but I think that will have to wait a bit more than a week hehe.

That's it, even when I'm busy I'm awesome, keep being awesome you too!

First done

That's it, first exam done. I don't know if I have passed it, let's hope yes. Anyway I know the subject and if I haven't passed it now I will the 29th of June.
Now 6 exams left. Next one is next week, on Thursday.

Yes, I'm so incredibly lucky to have her next to me. More than what words can tell, that's why I want to keep her forever next to me.

Be awesome while I'm busy!

Guest post

Hi everybody,
as Andrés is incredibly busy these days I'm stepping in to write a post. The last weeks have been so busy for the both of us. We have been living a cave life in darkness and nothing but our books and all the other stuff we need to study. I'll be free next week, while he's still preparing for his first exam.
To study is the last thing anyone wants to do when the weather is great for going to the beach, but it is the way it is. I don't get how the "sevillanos" deal with this heat every year. The winters are cold (not extremely like in Sweden, but still cold) and there is no heat inside the houses. The summers are hot and you're too lazy to do anything. Well, He is not. He is studing so hard from 6 or 7 in the morning until 8 and maybe longer. I cannot say anything but that I'm so proud of him. I know that he gets a bit grumpy when it's very hot (like me when I'm hungry), but he's doing so well.
As you might have heard we're going to reward ourselves with a trip when the exam period is over. We'll escape the heat and head north - playa, sidra & pinxos!

Adios,

Simone

120% Busy

So, I have increased my daily studying time a 20% so instead of 10h I try to study more than 12h and have time to be with Simone and do some sport to not get crazy.

My life nowadays is quite repetitive: Wake up at 06:00, study until 8:15-8:20, wake her up, breakfast, study, second-breakfast (yes, I'm that awesome), study, lunch, study, fika, study and at 20:30 I use to stop and go to swim or have a shower and wait for her to come from her Spanish classes.

Why do I do that? Because I want to finish next year, this are the last few weeks of the course and I have to do what I must: Study and do my best. After that adventure time will arrive, we (I wish I was helping... She is doing all the job and I'm very thankful) are planning a trip to the north of Spain before she goes back to her country.

That been said, I apologize for not writing in a long time, I'll try to write a bit more often even if they are just a few words. I think it helps me someway to write thoughts.

News over here are crazy about the crisis and Spain staying in the Euro or not... So let's better not talk about that, I think we have enough crisis and we don't want crisis in the blog too.

I will try to make a visit to Sweden next September, I think I haven't seen Swedish Autumn, have I?
As the Scorpions song says: No Pain No Gain, so let's go back to work and keep being awesome!

Productive day

That was it, a lot of studying and working. 2 projects more finished: One about the structural analysis of a wing and the other about a beam made with composytes.

Quite interesting. Everything else is more than fine, it's perfect (except the university strike, that I don't know if it helps or if it will make things worse for us...). So, everything is fine, not much free time but I already knew that was going to happen.

Be awesome!

Last week of class?

This one could be the last week of class... It has started with great news about yesterday night concert of Bruce Springsteen here in Seville. Two of my mates went and only one of them was able to come to class hehe.
Today we had some kind of exam, that I think I did it fine, without mistakes but I would have liked a tad more of time, anyway it helped me to study for the subject during this weekend :)

Great weekend, by the way, on Thursday it was my birthday, in which she invited me to have tapas around the city, I must recomend a few places for Mr. Kjell and Gabbis, who are coming in June. On Friday we went to have dinner with classmates, great place that they should visit too and finally on Saturday we went to an awesome Finish party. I enjoyed it so much and I want to say hej to my Finish, Polish and from-all-over-Europe friends that I met there. All of that with my favourite person in this world :)

As you see, despite I'm quite busy (as always) and think a lot about my studies, I also have a real life, that often is forgoten by engineering students... One day I'll talk to you about engineering students, as I did with miarmas, I think it would be interesting.

May the awesomeness be with you!

Happy birthday!

To me! Today is my birthday, so I'm happy :-)

It makes me a 23 years old person, I feel I'm getting older each year... Why could that be?

Right now I'm still at the university, but soon I'll go home.
News: I haven't been accepted in Saab summer internship, well, bad luck. I would have enjoyed the experience but I can survive without that. I know I'm a great engineer and that next year them or other company will accept a true job offer.

Things in the university are getting hard... They are uprising prices and taxes for everything. Since next one will be my last year that doesn't affect much to me, I may have to pay just a bit more, but other people are not in the same situation. It is not fair, so there will probably be a huge strike in 2 weeks. Let's see how it goes.

Anyway I'll try to get a job here in the university for next year, to get some engineering experience.

Things: I must decide a place to have a nice dinner with Her, since it is my birthday we deserve it. This weekend we must work hard, since I have a small exam on Monday and She has to work on a presentation. Let's see what we find for tonight :-)

Long day

Today it has been some kind of long day, not bad, just long.
Still have a lot to do, but at least it has been a hard worked day, not much to tell, she is still out (I'll pick her up tomorrow by lunchtime) and I'm still here.

Exams are approaching a bit more each day. Didn't have the best rest last night or the one before, but well, things are going fine.

Be awesome!

Quite aeronautical, hu?

So here is today's work, the actual structures project that we have to do on a 3-persons-team:

In the images above you can see the inside structure of an aircraft wing. That's what we have done today despite my mates computers started to crash. All the preassure was on me but well, I'm used to work under it (preassure) and we solved a couple of problems with the mesh and some elements :-)

After that we added the skin, I'll upload a picture of that soon.

Right now my life is quite around the university. I want to be the best in the subjects I know I am the best, why? Because that way I can get a part-time job in my university that will allow me to study and work. They don't pay much but well, I have to try.

The rest is quite great, She is still living with me, which means that I cannot have other thing than a smile in my face when I arrive home. I think that this situation is great, but it makes me wish more and more to be done with my studies and get to live with her definetly :-) That's all I'll tell about my private life.

Appart of that everything is fine here, we all have great health and are happy, well, I'm stressed too, but I think that working without preassure is quite boring hehe.

I must send a "hej" to my co-workers Shumy (Jose María, aka Mr. Bean) and Jaime. Also to Mr. Kjell, that I got the chance to see and say "hej" throught Her Skype hehe.

Be awesome!

Getting things done

Starting to finish some projects, now there are only 3 more to do (I have done 5 already) for June-July and 3 more for September that I hope to do during Summer.
I think I'm progressing in Swedish, despite my level is still quite basic, I think I was expecting too much for this semester with Her here in the Swedish field, but well, despite that I'm learning more things about Swedish culture and way of life, places to work as an engineer and where I could be good at.
This second part of the course is also revealing me what I do prefer and what I don't like. It seems I love automatic control and they have a few positions in Saab, in Linköping, that's quite good. Even better when it's related to aeronautical engineering :-D

But I still have another year here in Sevilla, so let's see how everything goes. I have already applied to do a part time job in an aeronautical company, as an internship for 6 months.

Away from that, everything is going fine here, the weather is not the best right now but it's not too hot, so that's good (in Sevilla you don't want it to be too hot, believe me).

Be awesome!

Feria

Feria week in Sevilla. The week that is the centre of the lifes of people from Sevilla.

What is Feria? You may ask...
Feria is a whole week of party that started (long time ago) as an animal market. Kind of what it is today, animals go there (but they are humans) and stay there all day eating and drinking.
Feria is highly related to miarmas. The "real" (the physical place where Feria is) is in the heart of the miarma neighbourhood in the city. It's miarmas territory and you can notice it as soon as you see a bunch of people going to Feria.
There we find the "Casetas", that are the places where miarmas get drunk and full of food. They are private most of them. Public ones don't use to be good (or safe). Despite it's kind of miarma, you should try the caseta experience. They use to play flamenco music, dance sevillanas (a dance from Sevilla) and everything is full of colour. There you have to try rebujito, which is the official drink in Feria. It's basically a kind of white wine from the South of Spain mixed with white soda, it's good and refreshing.

At the end of the day, after dinner, when your body is destroyed, you should try the best way to kill next day hangover: Churros con chocolate.
They can be found in a few places around Feria, it means the end of the night and time to get the metro or the bus and go home.

As I'm lately trying always, a couple of pictures of yesterday's Feria:

The Portada, the main entry to the Feria

Dinner, fried fish, montaditos, picos and rebujito

Crowded street where you can see a few casetas

Itálica

Itálica is an old Roman city, built next to Sevilla (Hispalis for the Romans). Three emperors were born there: Trajano, Adriano and Teodosio. So the city got some importance and there we were to learn from it and take some pictures.

It was such a beautiful and nice day the one of yesterday, the sun was shining and the birds were singing. Soon it will get too hot to do things like that, so let's enjoy it until that moment.

Some of the pictures of yesterday:

Old Roman public baths

Roman bread oven

One floor Roman house called Domus

Me in the Arena, ready to beat some gladiators

She in the Arena, showing us where the beasts where hidden

That was it, now is a day to work hard on some fluids and aerodinamics. Be awesome!

Today's job

I let you part of today's job, 3D sketch and structural FEM (Finite Elements Method) analysis of an honeycomb shell with aluminium beams:

Everything is fine over here, my throat hurts a bit but I'll survive. It's being a week full of hard work. I hope all of you are fine!

Free week - Working week

This one is a free-of-classes week, which means that I should use the time I have to work as hard as I can and study as much as I'm able. Why? Because, honestly, I want to pass all the subjects I have for this semester and get rid of my studies by next year, which implies a lot of effort.
I'm getting some projects finished, which means a bit of air for  me to breathe, but I cannot relax as much as I would like. It is not easy and nobody said it would be, so we must keep rocking.

I hope everything is going awesome for you my readers, be awesome and don't be shy, I appreciate your comments :-)

Miarmas

Useful word if you are visiting Sevilla: Miarma.

If you know a tad of Spanish, you may understand "mi arma", which translated into English means "my weapon". But don't get wrong, it comes from "mi alma"-> "my soul", what a change, hu?

It's frecuently used at the end of sentences, by people who has always lived in Sevilla and who have a strong traditional-Sevilla family. But that's not the only use or meaning of the word.

People from the rest of Andalucía or España can also use that word, "miarma", to talk about anyone from Sevilla. That's what I want to talk to you about, the traditional "miarma" from Sevilla.

You can difference the traditional miarma from the rest of people so easily. Their hair (if they have) looks like plastic against their heads. They use to be shaved and their clothes are the same always: bright brown pants, dark blue jacket, bright blue shirt with a red tie (or red and yellow), a belt with the colours of the Spanish flag and nautic shoes.

If you get close to one of them you'll notice such a strong smell to their perfume, it seems they love to get a bath of perfume before going out. They also have their particular way of speaking, instead of "una cerveza, por favor" they say "niño, una sssservesssita cuando pueda miarma". They pronounce their "s" as if it would save their lifes from the Devil.

The traditional miarma loves Semana Santa, Feria and "Romerías". Not because they are religious, but because they love "sssservessssita" and it's such a great chance to meet other miarmas and get drunk. They are not dangerous, not at all. Their politic view uses to be conservative and narrow-tight to religion (catholic, of course). They are not bad, they are just as they are, special.

So, that's it, miarma, miarmas and their way of life.
Be awesome, miarma!

Back home!

Back home after some days on holidays!
My family, Simone and me went on some holidays to the beach, the one that you can see in the picture:

We could have some moments of nice weather, visited some old Roman buildings like the theatre below:
Or some new friends we did:
And of course, as we were that close, we visited Gibraltar!
Today I'm tired so I'll let you with the pictures. I'll try to write more now that I'm back in the city.
Be awesome!

Feliz Semana Santa!

That's how this week is called in Spanish: Semana Santa.
It's a holiday week for students that means a break in the second semester but it also means that you must start studying hard for June exams (I have 8 this June...).
I'm working hard, got done a couple of projects, one of them right now (well, I still have to write a summary of what I have done). It is an automatic control for a misil/rocket, using Simulink and Matlab.
The weather is not the nicest, it can rain, that makes me happy because we need it so badly and that makes people who love the Semana Santa sad and cry because they cannot walk with their wooden virgins and Jesus Christs. Bad luck for them, but there are more important things in life than walking next to a wooden statue of a virgin.
This last weekend we have been in Málaga, ¡la Costa del Sol!, visiting my family and some friends, having a relaxed weekend away from the things going on in Sevilla.
Be awesome!

Pre-Strike day

Tomorrow there is a general strike in Spain, let's hope things go fine and I don't have any problem coming here to the university, because I live in a country that if you want to go to work or study and other people is in a strike they can get violent with you because you don't agree them. Which is very typicall from Spanish left-side politicians (the ones that launched the strike).
Don't worry about Simone, she doesn't have class tomorrow.
Meanwhile in my life everything is so great, the last exam, the one I still didn't know the mark, is passed, I got a 6.3 on it so that means that I passed 5 out of 6 exams I did. I think that's not bad, don't you?
Now I'll try to do my C.V. and apply to Saab later, I would like to try Scania as well, but they don't give information in the website (they refer you to another webpage that basically says that you can end up wherever), so I guess I won't apply for them despite I think it would be a good experience.
Still working on my Swedish, more often now than before, I think I'm learning a lot lately, but I still want much more, I'd love to be able to speak it more or less "fluently" by this Summer, even if it's just basic sentences.
I hope things are going great for you, don't forget to be awesome!

IKEA and Elections

First of all I'm sorry that I haven't uploaded this, it's not that I don't like to write, it's just that this week has been so very busy for me.
Yesterday we went to IKEA, yes, that Swedish company which is conquering the world with its furniture hehe, as you can see, we had meatballs, they were good, but not as good as Anne's meatballs (I haven't tried yet Simone's), such a nice day of relax and stop thinking :)

And today it's elections day here in Andalucía. Let's see how it goes and who is the winner.

Nice weekend, busy week incoming

This was a very nice weekend, to be honest.
I had to say goodbye to a guy from my swimming team, he got a job in Burdeox, France, so he will leave this country for a few months at least. That made me think...
We visited the "International beer festival", which was really poor, but well, at least it was something. I like beer and to try new ones, of course moderately, never drive after you drink alcohol!
That was on Friday night, then Saturday arrived.
That day we basically were studying and working hard on our university things, I can't believe how busy I'll get this week, they'll send us some new projects to do, but well, since I'm awesome I know I can do it. After a fast visit to the supermarket we had dinner with friends of my parents, parents of friends of my brother, from his swimming team. Really great food, a lot of it, so today we will repeat the dinner we had yesterday night, we still have leftovers for a bunch of people hehe.
And today it was my svenskalection i Spanien 3, a text to translate and understand. I want so badly to learn the language, but I guess is something I must be patient. I try to practice as much as I can with Her, as well as I encourage Her to talk Spanish to me.
The last thing to tell is that we want Mr. Kjell here for Easter! Torremolino and "gambas al ajillo" are waiting for him!

Today's picture are an old Lincoln that we found in a very nice meat restaurant, and of course the meat that you can find in that restaurant (that I think you have seen in Her blog):

Awesome Pen!

Today was the day in which I got an incredibly awesome pen from Her as an early birthday present :-)
It's so awesome, here you have a picture:
And that's it, good day is today, appart of that I'm very busy.

4/5 passed

Just one mark left to know!
Today I got the last exam's mark I did, I passed it (as I expected, honestly), so great news :-)
I'm thinking about looking for some company in Sweden in which I could do the final engineering project next course, if it gets complicated to find it I'll do it with one of the teachers, but I'd really like to work with some company. I think that kind of things help to get experience and to get known out of the Engineering School.
Today we had a very interesting lab work time, we made a couple of beans (well, a bean and another piece) in carbonfiber, I also got a small piece that I'm planning to use in my books, to not forget in which page I'm hehe.

I let you a couple of pictures I did today at the lab.

 - The bean being built (just the top part left):

  - The bean after the vacuum machine
  - Autoclave:

Grattis Mamma Anne!

Happy birthday!
I hope everything is fine there, here we have a lot of work to do, including learning Svenska (thanks for commenting in Swedish, I'm getting familiar with some words and now I almost don't need the translator to understand the message).
Today is fluids mechanics day, also a day to be with her, that probably will move soon into a flat, or maybe not, that's her choice and we will survive both options so...
Have a nice day all of you and my best whishes for Anne.
Be awesome!

Mistake is fixed :-)

So that's it, I have fixed the epic fail I did.
Short upload today, everything is more than fine, but I'm kind of busy. I'll upload this weekend telling you more news (there is an international beer festival in the city from today until next weekend :D).

Picture of the structure:

Ready to be analized, be awesome!
